A large, dark-eyed forest owl that spread into the Pacific Northwest over the last century and is now common in wooded parks and stream corridors across Whatcom and Skagit counties.
This species is sensitive to disturbance. WildLookout doesn't map nests, roosts or colonies.
Peaks in January. Resident all year; most vocal from late winter into spring.
