The Skagit Wildlife Area Headquarters Unit on Fir Island, a restored tidal marsh at the mouth of Freshwater Slough. A flat dike trail with a bird blind looks over cattail marsh, channels and the Skagit estuary.
The blind gives you cover and a steady rest for herons and ducks working the channels.
