Skagit County
WDFW's Fir Island Farm Reserve on the Skagit Wildlife Area, known to birders as Hayton Reserve. Restored estuary and managed farm fields on the south edge of Fir Island are set aside as an undisturbed feeding area for wintering snow geese, swans and ducks.
Snow geese and swans use the fields from fall through early spring; white birds on gray days need a careful histogram so the highlights don't blow out.
Access details are drafts and haven't been verified on site.
